Beyoncé To Attend Grammys Despite Strike

January 19, 2008 by Jeanne

BeyoncePeople magazine is reporting that Beyoncé will be attending the Grammy Awards despite the fact that members of the Writers Guild of America plan to picket the ceremony and have asked Screen Actors Guild members to boycott the show as well (Beyoncé is likely a member since crossing over into acting).

"The work of The Recording Academy is vital to the music industry, and we have every intention of being with the entire music community to celebrate," said Mathew Knowles, manager/father of Beyoncé, who’s nominated for record of the year. "Beyoncé has been asked to participate and will do so. We have an incredible performance that will be announced soon. We wish the Grammys the best."

I’ve heard that the WGA strike could be ending soon so hopefully, it won’t matter in the end :)

First off we can’t believe everything even if it’s from her father. She has a promising Acting career and I know she will not probably jeopardize it and cross the pickett line. but at the same time we should respect her as a leader and not simply “following’ the pack. Who knows the strike maybe over before the Grammy’s air in 2 weeks. we will see but for now we should not jump to conclusions. I’m with B all the way on this one. Plus Music is her life unlike the other actors. So whatever she chooses to do i will support B. No doubt about it!
