Beyoncé Gained 15 Pounds for Etta James Role

Beyoncé spoke to InStyle magazine about her latest movie project, Cadillac Records, in which she portrays Etta James. She mentioned that filming the movie changed her - in more ways than one. To play the role of Etta, Bey had to add 15 pounds to her bootylicious body.
“I gained almost 15 pounds to play the role. It was way easier – and tastier – than having to lose so much weight for Dreamgirls.”
She also said that the experience made her a more expressive artist. “Lyrically, it’s deeper than what I’ve done before. I wasn’t mature enough or old enough, or in touch with myself enough, to do this type of album before. I didn’t have the guts.”
It’s definitely always easier and more fun to gain the weight. Who wants to give up Twinkies?
