BeyoncĂ© Knowles absolutely blew me away with her performances at the 2008 Fashion Rocks. She sounded great when she sang “Just Stand Up“, but I was really touched by her performance of “At Last“, dedicated to Etta James. It was so sweet and sincere, and she sounded great. I loved it. Wig and all. She also performed with Justin Timberlake,singing “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing” and let me just say I thought she made Justin look like he was standing still. She did do good on “At Last”, but she didn’t do it justice, IMO. I don’t think anyone could. However, Etta James seemed impressed/pleased with her rendition.
The collab with JT was just alright to me
You’re right, Queen Dee. Because there is no one on earth who could do it like Etta. You can’t replace a pioneer like her!
