Beyoncé Sponsors Food Drive

Well, we all know Beyoncé likes her some food and I guess she wants to make sure everyone else has enough to eat also. Apparently, she’s sponsoring a food drive that will take place before her concert in Houston on Saturday. Here’s the info:
Beyoncé wants to — like her hit song says — “upgrade u.” For a good cause.
The Houston-bred superstar struts onstage Saturday at the Toyota Center. But before the show, she’s sponsoring a food drive. It kicks off at 2 p.m. outside the venue.
Fans already attending the concert who make donations will be given a raffle ticket for a chance to have their seats upgraded. And the first 1,000 fans who drop off non-perishable food items will receive an autographed Beyoncé photo.
It will almost make up for having to sit through opening act Robin Thicke. On the radio, his falsetto is fine. Live? Not so pretty.
Donation bins will be available inside the Toyota Center for latecomers. Fans are asked to bring cans, boxes or jars of food. (No glass, please.)
The event is being held in conjunction with the Rev. Rudy Rasmus of St. John United Methodist Church (the church Beyoncé attended), America’s Second Harvest and the Houston Food Bank.
“Reaching out and touching lives is incredibly empowering. That’s why I want my fans to experience more than my music this summer,” Beyoncé said in a press release. “I want them to experience the joy of making a difference by helping someone else.”
More info is available at the Survivor Foundation.
