Fans Upset About Beyoncé Ticket Prices

by User ImageJeanne on June 6th, 2007

Beyonce-Knowles-Honey-Photoshoot-12Beyoncé fans are pretty upset that concert ticket prices were slashed in half on the day of the performace.

Betsan Rees, 32, from Penarth, paid more than £50 for a ticket to see her favourite singer at the Cardiff International Arena last night, only for tickets to be on sale from the box office at £25 yesterday.

She said: “It’s disgusting. If they can afford for tickets to be £25 now, why couldn’t they sell them at that price from the start?

“I thought £50 was a lot of money but because I like her so much I paid up.

“It’s OK for people who buy a ticket today but what about the real fans like me who queued up all morning the day tickets came out?

“I think they should at least offer us some money back. It’s really unfair.”

Some fans were forced to cough up the full amount for the tickets yesterday morning, even though the Echo had already been asked to advertise the new discounted price.

Annette Harrison, 36, bought three tickets at a cost of £138.50 at 10am yesterday. Just minutes later, the prices were slashed.

She said: “I feel I’ve been ripped off. It’s not good enough.

“I phoned the box office and they said there was nothing they could do. They sold us the tickets when the prices had gone down but their system hadn’t been updated yet.

“I want a refund of my £61.”

Annette had already paid for her daughter Natasha Miller, 15, to see Beyoncé earlier in the week in Wembley.

She said: “She said it was out of this world and was desperate to go again with my nieces.

“I’m just fuming and I’m not going to let this go.”

Lidia Marino, 16, from Cwmbran, who queued on the morning tickets went on sale, said: “I’m really shocked. They should at least give me a free ticket to see someone else.”

And Alex Grist, 17, from Ebbw Vale, said although it was unfair, she wouldn’t let it spoil her night.

She said: “Beyoncé is the biggest star in the world. I wouldn’t miss this.”

The CIA said it was the right of the promoter, Music World Entertainment, to set ticket prices and offer promotional deals on their events.
