  Initially the song was annoying, specifically the “ella, ella, ella….well you get my point. It grew on me but it was still annoying.

  w/o this song, Rihanna’s career is at a standstill. She has not had much success since this song. She has not one any awards for any other song. I mean what is a muchmusic award anyway LMAO!!!!

  her time is coming, poor girl. Her album is being rereleased & like I predicted there is no duet w/ Bey. Tsk, tsk. When Bey comes back she is going to be hotter than ever before. mark my words

  I liked Umbrella it was a hot song.
  Rihanna’s had 2 huge hits since Umbrella “Don’t Stop The Music” which reached #3 on the Hot 100 & “Take A Bow” which reached #1.
  So I’m not sure what you were talking about B4real when you said Rihanna hadn’t seen much success since Umbrella.
  And as far as awards she’s won 2 World Music Awards for Female Entertainer of The Year & Worlds Best Selling Pop Female artist. She also won an American Music Award for Favorite Female Artist Soul/R&B.
  I’m a fan of both Beyonce & Rihanna & I’m always confused about all the hatred Rihanna gets from Bee fans.
  Most of my friends are big Bee fans & I still can’t figure out no matter how much I try why people can’t just appreciate both artists like I do.

  @Jayonce - who’s hating on Rihanna? If I don’t like a song I don’t like it, so when has that become hating?

  Like I said, Rih has not won any awards for her other songs besides Umbrella, but yet you quote overall awards. Read, read, read!

  QD - correct me if I am wrong. Didn’t Umbrella win a Grammy for Best “RAP” collaboration? Then that’s Jay-Z’s award. So ha, the credit goes to Jay Z for 2 bars of a rap verse. That should tell you that the song was garbage!!
