Jay-Z Switches Labels

So, the ultra powerful Jay-Z has decided to ditch Island Def Jam in favor of Columbia Records after, it is claimed, Def Jam made some decisions that he did not like.
Jermaine Dupri was added as an executive in Def Jam’s urban music division and someone “close” to Jay-Z claims that he said “There isn’t room for two kings at one label. Why would Island bring in another power-hitter urban guy?”
Janet Jackson (who is also Dupri’s girlfriend) is now with Def Jam and it looks like Jay wants to move to Columbia where Beyoncé is signed.
Apparently, Columbia’s co-chair, Rick Rubin, is working hard to make room for Jay. “He’s creating a supergroup of staff. So it would make sense that he would want Jay on his side.”
Could get interesting…

Isnt’t Beyonce dumping Jay Z? Why he is going to Columbia as well. :)
