Kelly Rowland, Child Psychologist

by User ImageJeanne on September 16th, 2007

I’m happy that Kelly Rowland was able to depend on Beyoncé’s family for support when she was growing up. Now, it seems that she wants to return the favor:

“I love kids and I feel that young people need someone to talk to.

“There’s so much going on with this new generation, they’re being exposed to so much stuff. They have so many questions and sometimes feel they can’t talk to anybody.”

As much as I like Bey, maybe she should start with her since Bey seems to be having ethnic identity issues. I’m sorry but I’m still a little miffed about her saying that she wishes she was Latina.

kelly rowland is the better singer of destiny’s child. beyonce once said that she was lead singer of the group because of her talent. if she or any one else believes this you are crazy. what parent wouldn’t put their own child out front if they were to manage a group. beyonce’s father put her out front to make her a star as any parent would not because of talent. every one knows that lead singers get all the attention. kelly has repaid her debt in full by being in the shadows. she now needs to move to another label, get new management and let people like jermain dupree, r kelly, baby face etc to move her career foward. being where she is now, every one is focused on beyonce at her label because it is owned by the knowles family. so there is no push behind kelly. not like the push that is put behind family–behind blood.

I think Keely Rowland’s is right to speak to young people about stuff because the things she went through when she was young she can put people on the right footsteps.

I am divorced, going through a lumbar disability- 3 surgeries in 3 years, and my young son (6) is now being force fed a diet of G rated schlock due to his new ‘Daddy’ who has 2 daughters 4 and 6. My son has to watch Dora, Barbie, and more girls princess films, that I strongly believe develop a compliant person, and is sent the wrong message , like all that matters is looks, wealth, etc.Spencer and I used to watch Transformers together and I would closley monitor all films that we both watched. I am an artist, writer, and work for film screenplay writers and have done art work for studios. I may personally love Chuck Palahniuk but I wont translate that to my son. A sense of adventure and a sense of empowerment is important for both boys and girls. I have grown up children (22 year old twins and a 20 year ols daughter who are all doing wonderfully 9year 3 UBC psychology straight a’s - Son about to get pilots license and Allie about to enter Film school. My former wife has custody but all of a sudden her partner, who Spencer is forced to call “daddy’ makes all aesthetic decisions which include a dose of religion as well as the previously mentioned harmful Barbie goes to Cleveland etc movies. There must be child psychology studies that will back up my position, as I am not alone on this and my closest friend is a clinical Psychologist in NYC and agrees. Please respond.
