No “Beyoncé Experience” For Malaysia

Malaysia tried to impose “decency” requirements on Beyoncé for her upcoming appearance in the country. Bey Bey was not having it. Read this:

Gwen Stefani may have handled her gig in Malaysia well, but not so much for Beyonce Knowles. The diva’s concert in the country’s capital Kuala Lumpur has been cancelled because she reportedly didn’t want to compromise with the strict dress code.

Malaysia’s Muslim group have once again enforced a dress code that doesn’t allow female performers to reveal skin from chest down to Beyonce. The ‘Irreplaceable’ singer has allegedly refused to follow this rule and prefers to cancel the date.

Ironically, Stefani was faced with the same situation in July but the former No Doubt singer chose to abide the rules and continued with the shows that eventually went successful.

No rep from Beyonce can be contacted so far to comment on this.

Beyonce was set to perform at Kuala Lumpur’s Putra Indoor Stadium on November 1. This would be her first show in the Asian country.

The Malaysian concert is part of the lengthy The Beyonce Experience Tour that has started since April in Japan and is nearing its end this November. She will then visit China, Philippines, South Korea before concluding in Taiwan.

I can see how Gwen Stefani could do it but I also understand that the costumes are a big part of Beyoncé’s show and she didn’t want to have to change that and find all new costumes. Plus, I think after her fall, they have been really careful with wardrobe. Changing it could be disastrous for all we know.
