“Single Ladies” Featured in New Television Show “Glee”

July 11, 2009 by Lauren Croteau

Who hasn’t touched Beyoncé’s famous tune “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)”? From Justin Timberlake to Joe Jonas, people have been completely wrapped in the “Single Ladies” sensation. Most recently, it’s been revealed that an upcoming new television show by the name of “Glee” will be using the song as a main part 81126P4_BEYONCE_B_GR_02of one of their episodes.

A kid by the name of Kurt Hummel (played by Chris Colfer) is caught by his dad (played by Mike O’Malley) with two girls – only he and the girls are dressed up in leotards and are dancing to Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).” In attempt to cover up the clearly feminine moment, Kurt lies to his dad and tells him that he’s the new kicker for his high school football team.

A motivated Kurt is able to actually get the spot as kicker on the team and leads them to victory, breaking a losing streak, by using a plan which incorporates the “Single Ladies” dance. He later then reveals to his dad that he is gay, and the father responds by saying her knew all along and that he still loves him.

The show is created by Ryan Murphy who also did “Nip/Tuck.”  Expect to see this episode on September 30th on FOX.

Ha! Sounds like a great episode. It’s full of meaning, love, laughs and of course, Beyoncé! I won’t lie, I’m a bit scared to see how that turns out. Will any of you guys be tuning in to see it? If you are, I’ll try to put up a reminder closer to the date.
