Solange Album Sells 30,000 Units in the First Week
Reports say Solange Knowles sold 30,000 copies of her new album “Sol-Angel And The Hadley St Dreams” in the first week of it’s release. Some might not find this particularly successful, but the album is selling nearly double it’s projected amount. Go Solange!
According to Geffen, Solange’s album should have only sold between 15,000 to 20,000 copies in it’s first week, due to the fact that it didn’t get much promotion. Good for her! I’m sure she must be happy.

For the type of music Solo makes, I knew it wouldn’t sell much. Hence her “F*ck the Industry” song. Anyone who dares to be different, no matter their connections, are doomed to sell very little. I applaud her for her effort and I personally liked the CD.

Happy birthday, Markesa! I wish you the best on your (and Bey’s!) special day!! :)
Queen dee - I agree. Her album is definitely creative, and unfortunately, a lot of unique work goes unrecognized. Solo’s doing great and I’m happy for her!
